The Seated Acupressure Massage Training School was established in June 1998 by Davina Thomson and Patricia Abercromby. We are both professional therapists and qualified adult education teachers with many years of experience, both in business and marketing, corporate treatments and in private practice. Our combined skill base covers: Seated Acupressure Therapy, Sports Therapy and Sports Massage, Cranio-Sacral Therapy, Aromatherapy, Remedial Massage, Equine Therapies and teacher of Remedial Stretching and Yoga.
We have a flexible and holistic approach to our training and with the additional techniques that are learned during the course, the end result is a therapy that can be adapted to suit the individual needs of the client.
Our courses have achieved the status of accreditation with City & Guilds, one of the top awarding bodies in the UK - this means that if you wish to work towards a degree in Complementary Therapies, this will represent part of your degree. We are also recognised by CThA\Embody and the course is worth 20 CPD Credits.
Due to the rise in popularity of this therapy, many course providers have emerged. To raise the standards and gain recognition for Seated Acupressure as a separate modality in the complementary therapy industry, our training school, together with the two other industry leaders, have formed The Association of Seated Acupressure Professionals (ASAP). This ensures that any course provider who is a member of ASAP will be offering training that meets the required standards outlined by the regulatory bodies. It is important to check the credentials of any Seated Acupressure Therapy training provider.
